Meet the Assistant Chief

Assistant Chief Darden is a 1st generation fire fighter. Born in St. Paul, Minnesota, he was raised in Hazelwood West School District, where he graduated in 2009. He also attended classes in Kinloch, at St. Martin’s and Head Start.

Darden’s Fire Career started as an Explorer in Hazelwood Fire Department, Post# 9341. In 2008, he joined the Kinloch Fire Protection district, climbing to the position of Assistant Chief by 2019. While at Kinloch, he joined Mid County Fire Protection District of Camden County, Missouri Lake Area Fire Academy. This is one of several Fire/EMS programs he attended during his eleven years of development. He loves to pass his knowledge to others whenever he can.

As well as his services in Fire/EMS, Darden has been a mentor for many young men and women trying to enter the field of firefighting. Additionally, he is a ranked Master Mason of Noble Lodge # 684 Free and an Accepted Mason. He also is Shriner of the Moolah Shrine Temple.

Assistant Chief Darden is joined by his loving wife, Emily and their three dogs.
